In our latest build video, we assemble another high-end Intel X299 build, this time using the Core i9-7900X. Check below for the full part list as well as a link to our benchmark results.
* Production Note: If you are curious about the timing of this video, it was actually filmed last month around the time the X299 platform launched. Unfortunately, we ran into some production issues that caused a delay in publishing it until now.
A big thanks to ASUS for providing the CPU, motherboard and graphics card, as well as to Inwin for providing the power supply used in this build.

hi, i loved this video and i subbed. I am planning to build my first pc with the same motherboard. The only trouble i think i will have is i don't know where all the cables go. Like I've watched tens of pc build videos and every single one is pretty consistent except the part about the cables, like sata this, cpu cooler that, fan connect to this, splitter thing goes here, etc... Like how would i even know where to connect all the cables? It's not like there is a manuel to tell me where to. Please help ty
really good at explaining how to do it, great video, only question i think i have, is it ok for the CPU cooler to send air in the graphics direction? since the air will be hot will increase the graphics temp right?
is there anyway you can give that pc to me for free? I'm from the philippines, and having a super computer is one of my dreams. But parts are very expensive. since Asus is just providing it to you, can you just this one time, give me that PC?
I'm doing a similar build with this case and it seems you have the bottom fans pulling the air from the bottom into the case. I have a lot of pets and always have issues with dust and pet hair. Do you think I should mount the fans so they blow the air out the bottom of the case or will this adversely affect my cooling? Great video btw! Thanks!
For builds using the x299 motherboards and/or the i7x CPUs, am I forced to use the M.2 memory or can I just use the SATA SSD memory? Also, my motherboard (Aorus X299 from Gigabyte) has two CPUs, 8-pin EPS slots. Do I use both, or do I use one 8-pin with one 4-pin EPS connectors coming from my power supply? I'm asking because this is my third motherboard from Gigabyte and my builds won't even POST. Please help
I just bought a corsair 650 watt power supply for my new pc but i am not sure if its enough
The specs are
Asus rog strix z370-E motherhood
Asus 1080 ti graphics card
Core i7 8700k
Single ddr4 16gb (2666)
Corsair hydro h100i v2
Do you think the 650 power supply is enough for this spec?
I would buy a system like this, however there is no ECC memory option. The socket 2066 xeons have a ridiculous pricetag and you have to use workstation boards for it. Hallo Intel?!?!? You wanna make quality products? I think not. You can get overclocking and RGB instead. Sad.
I got motherboard X-299 deluxe, i9 7900X, Asus nVidia gtx 1070 and my motherboard after installing win 10 cannot see nVidia card and can not go through windows update successfully! where is the problem? What is your settings for SSD disks and SSD pcie disk with NVM support ? I got Plextor M8Pey 1 T. It does not work properly!
JeehoonOh There are 2 different SATA cables: SATA power and SATA data. SATA power goes to anything that uses RGB, but doesn't use a legacy Molex cable. It also goes to your 5.25 inch opticals, 3.5 inch hard disks, and 2.5 inch solid states. SATA data only goes to the last 3 components I mentioned.
