The difference between the buy and sell price (also known as bid and ask) is one of those things that mystifies newbies. We’re not used to having two prices for the same thing when we go to a store or shop online. This video explains in detail what they mean and why it’s there in the first place. As there are many connected things stemming from the bid/ask price David covers them as well, to provide a more holistic description of the term. The exact terminology, its place on a chart, how to interpret it is discussed in a simple and easy to grasp way before continuing to a bit more advanced things like liquidity and illiquid instruments, different types of spread. But everything is accompanied with real market examples and shows things exactly as you’ll find them in the Trading 212 platform whether on a laptop or in our trading app. Still have questions? Comments are below, ask away. At Trading 212 we provide an execution only service. This video should not be construed as investment advice. Investments can fall and rise. Capital at risk. CFDs are higher risk because of leverage.

"What is the spread" is one of the questions answered at http://www.planbtrading.com. "What is the spread" looks at the concept of spreads when trading Forex. Spreads are measured in pips, so pips are explained. Bid, offer and mid prices are also explained. "What is the spread" uses real currency pairs to explain how spreads are calculated from bid and offer prices. In each example, the arithmetic is shown. Different currency pairs quoted to four and five decimal places are used as examples for clarity. The Japanese Yen is quoted to both two and three decimal places and is also shown as an example. The concept of variable spreads is introduced and competition among brokers is mentioned. A worked example shows the cost of the spread on a Eurodollar trade. You'll learn how to use spreads when placing pending orders on the Trading 101 course. Request a free quotation for private tuition, or book your Trading 101 place on a public class at http://www.planbtrading.com, or call +44 203 603 4983.

The Bid price is the price a forex trader is willing to sell a currency pair for. Ask price is the price a trader will buy a currency pair at. Both of these prices are given in real-time and are constantly updating. So for example, the British pound against the US dollar has a bid price of 1.20720, that’s the price a trader wants to sell the GBPUSD. A seller who thinks a currency will decline, might sell at the bid price to take advantage of the fall. If the British pound against the US dollar has an ask price of 1.20740, that’s the price a trader wants to pay in order to buy the currency pair. The difference between the ask and the bid price is the spread. http://www.capexforextrading.com/forex-brokers-software We discuss the difference between the bid and the ask and guide you through an example of spreads. Remember that no matter which direction you trade into, you will always start with a debt that is equal to the spread. So, if the spread is 2 pips, you will start with a debt of 2 pips and you will also have to accumulate 2 pips in order to break even. We also discuss the pricing structure for currency pairs and what the prices actually mean. The first currency listed is the base currency and the second is its counterpart. What is Bid And Ask Price in Forex in Urdu Hindi .... If you like My Video Please Subscribe, like and Share... facebook:https://www.facebook.com/Forexprolive Twitter: https://twitter.com/ForexProLive Telegram: https://telegram.me/ForexProLive A full quotation is made up of 2 prices called the Bid and the Ask. The difference between these two prices is referred to as the 'Spread'. The spread is essentially the profit a broker or bank makes for you to enter the trade (your transactional cost). The wider the spread the more expensive it is for you to trade, whereas the thinner the spread the cheaper it is to enter the trade. Large and frequently traded currencies usually enjoy a small bid-ask spread while small and infrequently used currencies have a large bid-ask spread. The spread becomes more important to traders who trade frequently (such as an intraday trader or a scalper). However the spread is less of an important the higher the timeframe you trade one.

The bid-ask spread refers to the width of a stock or option's bid and ask. The tighter the spread, the more liquidity there tends to be. As spreads widen out, that is usually an indication of illiquidity. Check out this segment to learn more! New to options trading? What is a 'Bid-Ask Spread' ? A bid-ask spread is the amount by which the ask price exceeds the bid price for an asset in the market. The bid-ask spread is essentially the difference between the highest price that a buyer is willing to pay for an asset and the lowest price that a seller is willing to accept to sell it.
