What is STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAM? What does STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAM mean?

02:10
What is STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAM? What does STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAM mean? STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAM meaning - STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAM definition - STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAM explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. A student exchange program is a program in which students from a secondary school or university study abroad at one of their institution's partner institutions. A student exchange program may involve international travel, but does not necessarily require the student to study outside of his or her home country. For example, the National Student Exchange program (NSE) offers placements throughout the United States and Canada. Foreign exchange programs provides students with an opportunity to study in a different country and environment experiencing the history and culture of another country. The term "exchange" means that a partner institution accepts a student, but does not necessarily mean that the students have to find a counterpart from the other institution with whom to exchange. Exchange students live with a host family or in a designated place such as a hostel, an apartment, or a student lodging. Costs for the program vary by the country and institution. Participants fund their participation via scholarships, loans, or self-funding. Student exchanges became popular after World War II, and are intended to increase the participants' understanding and tolerance of other cultures, as well as improving their language skills and broadening their social horizons. Student exchanges also increased further after the end of the Cold War. An exchange student typically stays in the host country for a period of 6 to 10 months. International students or those on study abroad programs may stay in the host country for several years. Some exchange programs also offer academic credit.

Student Exchange Programs: Pros and Cons | Hungama Kids

02:07
Hungama Kids brings Information and Tips for all Teenagers. Let's know about the advantages and disadvantages of the Student Exchange Program Hello Friends In today’s times, as the world is converging, so are students. Many students are getting enrolled in student exchange programs and are trying to fetch out a better future by going to other countries and getting better education and experience Now, this process has both good and bad sides to it. So let's talk about Student Exchange Programs. The best part of this program is - new educational opportunities. Students can learn and participate in a lot of courses that are not available in the conventional education system of a certain country. Moreover, varied culture, languages, handling life independently and making new friends, all these factors help the students, not just academically but also in their overall personality development thus making him or her a better and progressive individual. Well, looking at the other side of the coin, many a times students had to face and deal with a lot of problems under such programs and unfortunately, many of them had to come back before even completing their courses. the problems can be of language, culture and many times despite being surrounded by people, students suffer from loneliness. Another huge factor is the expenses. Traveling, accommodation, medication, food and education expenses can sometimes take a toll on student and can be a big concern for students. So that was a short talk about the student exchange program. To watch more such info-taining videos, do subscribe to our channel and don’t forget to like and share this video. Day in the Life of an Exchange Student | EXCHANGE YEAR JAPAN

10:18
Hey guys! Let me take you through a day in my life as a high school exchange student in Japan! Shoutout to my awesome friends for making this video all the better :) DISCLAIMER: I obviously only put the interesting or fun parts of my school day in this video. While I do enjoy most of it, the majority of the day is hard work and studying (or cleaning the classroom or toilets haha) which isn't really shown here. Unfortunately I wasn't able to film much during class, which is why more of the "fun" subjects (i.e. calligraphy) are shown, but trust me when I say that we had everything ranging from biology to history as well as traditional Japanese literature... And side note: all the extra choir practices were during our free time ;) DM me if you have any questions regarding exchange in Japan! Instagram: @geeky.grape xoxo Natasha

The Truth about High School Exchange to Japan

05:41
Before I went to Japan, more people than I can count told me that it was going to be "the best time of my life". Well, guess what, it wasn't! And that's okay. I think many people (like myself) have rather wrong expectations when it comes to moving to another country, so here are some things I learned from the whole experience! ❤ Go on exchange to Japan (Geman-speaking countries only): https://www.intrax.de/kurzbewerbung-high-school?ixid=I-1151450 Ich habe meinen Schüleraustausch nach Japan 2015 mit Ayusa Intrax gemacht und tolle Erfahrungen sammeln können. DEAR FOREIGN EXCHANGE STUDENTS GOING TO JAPAN (AND OTHER PLACES)

04:24
Hello everyone! Info BELOW! This video is my little two cents on traveling abroad with foreign exchange programs. At Texas Christian University, there were plenty of opportunities for study abroad and most people took advantage of every single one of those opportunities. However, it was interesting to see how mindsets completely distracted people from truly enjoying their trip across the globe. When and if you decide to go abroad make sure you keep an open mind, make the best use of your time, and remember why you went in the first place. A trip to another country can sometimes mean meeting your best friend or getting that one connection that will help you years down the line. AS someone who loves to speak other languages, it was hard hearing so much negativity about things people can only dream of such as studying in America or going to Japan for a semester, but hopefully this video clarifies my feelings a little more and inspires some of you to venture out from traveling norms.

Yay multiple uploads. This was so fun, actually seeing the way japanese students learnt and studied. Also i didn't film walking into the hall but we had no idea what was going to happen and thats why we were kind of freaking out during that whole thing. Regarding how I managed to go to Japan and be a foreign exchange student, my school has a really good connection with our sister schools in Japan so my insanely dedicated teachers organised the for our whole year 10 class to go on this trip. Some of my friends did go through exchange programs though and they had a great time. Twitter: https://twitter.com/Acadia_B Instagram: http://instagram.com/Acadia_B

Foreign Exchange Student's Opinion of America

06:09
Over the 2013-2014 school year I got to know one of my school's foreign exchange students from the Czech Republic. Matej was an awesome dude, and it was pretty cool getting to know someone who was literally from the other side of the world. Anyway, I thought it'd be cool to film an interview with him so I could see what he really thought of the US, so I did. Also, I made sure to film it on one of his last days in America so he would actually give his real opinions.

Korea University Exchange Student: Day in the Life 고려대학교 교환학생의 일상 | 'ROUND KU #1

12:29
Welcome to my channel! I decided to film this Day in the Life of a Korea University student video to help future international/exchange students to get a glimpse of what a typical day would look like for a Korea University student! I am currently on exchange for this Spring 2017 semester from NY. As I mentioned, every day differs so much because there is always so much to do in Korea! And I love that. I HIGHLY recommend applying to study abroad at Korea University because it will definitely be a time you won’t forget. !!!FAQ!!!! (Compiled from questions incoming students have contacted & asked me! If you have a question that's not here COMMENT on the video!) 1. Where do you live? I lived in Allive Goshitel near business side of campus. I paid 550,000W/month + 50,000 deposit. I would recommend this place if you are a business student/have a lot of classes on the business side of campus because of it's location. However, it is far from the busy side of campus (near Anam Station). It is about a 10-15 minute walk from there or two stops on a bus (101, 7211). 2. What are you studying? What semester are you in? I am a business major (KU doesn't have concentrations but in my home school I concentrate in marketing). I am in my fourth semester (second year, second semester). However, in Korea SPRING is the first semester and FALL is the second. 3. What is the process for applying? Please contact your home university and ask if they have a program WITH Korea University. I applied through my home university so unless you go to Binghamton University I can't specifically help you out on that sorry :( 4. What was the course registration process like? Course registration was very very harsh for a lot of exchange students and it's usually harsh for even native students here. It's very competitive and seats go fast but I personally got all the courses I wanted. Before the registration period starts your KU advisor will send you an email with all the things you need to know so don't worry! I registered for classes back when I was still home so I had to make sure I got the time exchange right. Even if you don't get the course you want, you can always wait for orientation/couple days before the semester starts because courses fluctuate in capacity for the first week or so of classes. Don't worry-- on orientation day they will give you a detailed booklet of the steps you need to register for classes! 5. What are the schedules like? Is it possible to put all your classes in two days? The schedules vary like a normal university and usually are M/W/F or T/Th like most schools. 6. Is it difficult to get a dorm room? Are goshitels more expensive than dorm rooms? My goshitel was more expensive than dorm rooms but by very little. I believe CJ is 2,000,000 won for 4 months (comes down to less than $500 a month). Also, my study abroad advisor told me that KUBS exchange students from my school NEVER get a place in CJ so I knew I had to find off-campus housing on my own before arrival. 7. Do the dorms have a kitchen? Or is it simply buy from dining halls/restaurants? Is there a meal plan? I think dorms have small kitchens. No meal plans but the food is very cheap in caf/around school. YOU WILL NOT STARVE! Don't worry LOL 8. Do they provide bedding, pillows, duvets at the university? At CJ it is 20,000W to rent. 9. How’s the buddy system? I really enjoyed it because it allowed us to get comfortable with the school. They have many events/lunches/dinners together. 10. Do you feel that Korea University has a lot of student events on campus? At the beginning of the spring semester, there was a club fair & a school-wide cheering event/concert called Ipselenti. We had performers like TWICE, Hweesung, BeWhy. In the fall semester, there's also a small club fair and also a HUGE event called the Kor-Yon Games (Korea Uni VS Yonsei) which is a sporting match/cheering event also with many famous performers! I heard it's LIIITTT!!! KU treats their exchange students very well with an established buddy system-- your Katalk group chat amongst your group will always be buzzing with people willing to hang out & go on adventures together! Everyone is open to making new friends :) 11. What’s around the university? What’s the neighborhood like? For starters, buses & trains run from the university to anywhere in Korea really so you will not be deserted. It is not as crowded as like Hongdae or Seoul Station and Anam is an area that not many people go to unless they live there. But however, there is this road (the one I walk through in the video) that has the most "life." There's coin noraebangs (karaoke), chicken joints, road shop makeup, convenience stores, restaurants, etc.. Thanks for watching and please feel free to comment any questions/comments down below! Have a good day :) »INSTAGRAM: http://instagram.com/ohana806 »SNAPCHAT: http://snapchat.com/add/hannah0h »TWITTER: http://twitter.com/hannahoh97 Music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsSGnJPEVlY

Foreign EXCHANGE Programs

02:51
You Too Can Be A Foreign Exchange StudentHave you ever wondered why there are so many foreign students at your school, college or university? Have you considered the possibility of you studying abroad as part of you studies? Many full time overseas students are studying for a full degree at your college and stay for the 3 or 4 years it takes to complete the course. There are however, thousands of foreign students studying on a short term basis, usually for the second or third year of their course. These are exchange students and as these exchange programs are generally reciprocal you may be able, as part of your study program, to study at an overseas university for a year. Each year there are also thousands of school children who also attend school in another country for periods up to a year. Again it is not because their families have moved during the summer but it's because they are foreign exchange students and their experience abroad is as... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYsFXCEoFKk

What Happens At A Student Exchange In Italy?

05:27
Student Exchange Program is a challenging but rewarding experience, where you will gain skills in inter-cultural learning and understanding. You are not a tourist, but a local living like a member of the community. In this video, students of MISB Bocconi talk about their 4-month student exchange experience in Italy, at Bocconi University Milan. While others think of a student exchange as purely a learning opportunity, these students managed to do that AND scope out exciting real world opportunities for themselves too. From getting assessed by market leaders and landing interviews with industry giants, to working at the world-famous Milan Fashion Week and partying off campus, these guys have been exposed to a unique world-view - one that MISB Bocconi encourages its students to have before stepping out into the Corporate World. Have a look.
