SSH Tunnel with PuTTY

03:33
Learn to create secure tunnels using the SSH PuTTY client on windows. You can listen on a local port and redirect vulnerable traffic to the server via an SSH Tunnel. In this video we use PuTTY from a Windows 7 device to create an SSH tunnel to the CentOS 6.5 server to ensure we have a secure connection to the tigervnc service running on the CentOS Server. The VNC traffic would normally be unencrypted but the SSH Tunnel fixes this security hole. More videos like this online at http://www.theurbanpenguin.com

How to Create a Network of Machines in VirtualBox with SSH Access

24:14
In this video, we'll be learning how to clone Virtual Machines, add these machines to a network so they can communicate with each other, make sure they have internet access, and also set up SSH so that we are able to SSH into these machines from our host machine. This will allow us to pretty much build an entire virtual lab that we can use to test all kinds of different software. So after we're done, this will give us the ability to quickly spin up a new VM that behaves just like a real machine on our network. Let's get started. PuTTY SSH - How to configure PuTTY for Windows

04:51
Since the PuTTY SSH client interface is tricky, we summarize PuTTY configuration plus SSH options for a secure SSH connection using PuTTY Windows software. Find code examples and the video script here: https://factorpad.com/tech/full-stack/putty-ssh-windows.html This PuTTY tutorial shows you how to use PuTTY to connect to a Linux server from Windows using the SSH protocol. We test to see if the sshd server daemon is running, get the IP address and walk through the configuration of a new connection to save for use later. Data science is anything but easy, so we try to keep all of the details easy, promising to come back to the more advanced security topics later. We configure logging, saving sessions, keyboard shortcuts, sounds, window dimensions, scrollback, cursor, font, size, mouse, borders, character sets and protocol settings. I also touch on advanced security topics, left for later, such as encryption, authentication, X11 for GUI and tunnels for networking. Here we use a few Linux commands. Also included is our stack which includes: Debian Linux, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Python for data analysis (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy) and presentation tools for the user experience such as Matplotlib, HTML, CSS and JavaScript. How To | Configure Root SSH on Kali Linux

06:00
Hello Everyone, Today we will show you, how to configure root SSH on Kali Linux . The SSH protocol (also referred to as Secure Shell) is a method for secure remote login from one computer to another. It provides several alternative options for strong authentication, and it protects the communications security and integrity with strong encryption. Using Linux with different mind set is what sets the difference from a Black Hat, and a traditional Linux user. Let's see how secure shell works , secure shell is a network protocol for securing data that flows between a client and a server over a public network such as the internet when a client connects to a server it needs to be verified so the transaction can be considered secure one of the methods to authenticate the client is an exchange of cryptographic keys after the server successfully authenticate the client a tunnelled connection is established them secure shell provide encrypted file transfer between the client and the server . Also provide participants with the opportunity to have a Hands-On Experience in using effective Identity Security Solutions to deter malicious activities. If it isnt usable, nobody uses it. Lets see what parameters we have to used , and what we can do and why . - MaxAuthTries Specifies the maximum number of authentication attempts permitted per connection. Once the number of failures reaches half this value, additional failures are logged. The default is 6. Setting the value to 3 will mean that your server will only allow 3 login attempts before locking you out. But black hats they can do more ,security is a myth the term is not enough you can bypass the MaxAuthTries Security is mostly a superstition. It doesn't exist in NATURE (Black hat mind set) . - MaxSession Specifies the maximum number of open sessions permitted per network connection. The default is 10. To allow control of the number of multiplexed sessions supported over a single TCP connection. This allows increasing the number of allowed sessions above the previous default of 10, disabling connection multiplexing (MaxSessions=3) Disclaimer : This Video is for Educational Purpose Only, what you do is your responsibility and Black Hat Ethical Hacking or anyone involved, is not held accounted for if any damage for any reason occurs . How to Use Putty with SSH Keys on Windows

01:40
In this tutorial, we will demonstrate how to use PuTTY with SSH keys in windows. Don't forget to check out our site http://howtech.tv/ for more free how-to videos! http://youtube.com/ithowtovids - our feed http://www.facebook.com/howtechtv - join us on facebook https://plus.google.com/103440382717658277879 - our group in Google+ In this easy step by step tutorial, you will learn how to use PuTTY as an SSH client in Windows. PuTTY is communication software available freely over the internet, which uses several network protocols including SSH. Logging in using PuTTY SSH keys allows the only those people who have a valid key pair, which further prevents any threat of unwanted hacking of data. Step#1: Configuring PuTTY terminal First of all, open up the PuTTY terminal. Over here, enter the host for the server which you want to connect to. Let's enter an IP address of one of the host here and leave the port to default. Step#2: Authorization With that done, let's move to the SSH option in the category portion, expand it and then click on the "Authorization" option. Here, browse for the Key File which will be automatically made when configuring this connection. Locate the file and then click on the OK button. Step#3: Connecting to SSH Server Once you are done with that, a terminal will open up and will prompt you for the username. Specify the username and hit enter. After that, the connection would be established completely, enabling you to perform any tasks depending upon the permissions set by the administrator. Step#4: Generate SSH Key Now let's see how we can generate the SSH keys. For that, open up the Putty key generator. Over here, click on the Generate button next to the "Generate a public/private Key pair" option, in the Actions section. Step#5: Encrypting and saving SSH Key You can also change the type of parameters according to your requirements, and even change the bits over here. When prompted to generate some randomness, keep moving the cursor over the blank screen over here. This step is basically used by the application for securing the encryption. Random movements can be hard to re-generate and the sequence produced by your movements is calculated by the application. Once the process completes, it will show you the encryption key in the preview area. To save this key, click on the Save Private Key button and it will prompt you with a notification asking you whether you want to create a key without a passphrase. Hit yes to ignore it for now and then specify the location for the file. Your PuTTY SSH key file would be saved with the ".ppk" extension. And that pretty much covers the basics of using PuTTY with SSH keys in windows.

SSH Configuration on Cisco Router

01:05:17
How to configure ssh in gns3 step by step....SSH uses public-key cryptography to authenticate the remote computer and allow it to authenticate the user, if necessary. There are several ways to use SSH; one is to use automatically generated public-private key pairs to simply encrypt a network connection, and then use password authentication to log on.Another is to use a manually generated public-private key pair to perform the authentication, allowing users or programs to log in without having to specify a password. In this scenario, anyone can produce a matching pair of different keys (public and private). The public key is placed on all computers that must allow access to the owner of the matching private key (the owner keeps the private key secret). While authentication is based on the private key, the key itself is never transferred through the network during authentication. SSH only verifies whether the same person offering the public key also owns the matching private key. In all versions of SSH it is important to verify unknown public keys, i.e. associate the public keys with identities, before accepting them as valid. Accepting an attacker's public key without validation will authorize an unauthorized attacker as a valid user. SSH provides a secure channel over an unsecured network in a client–server architecture, connecting an SSH client application with an SSH server. The protocol specification distinguishes between two major versions, referred to as SSH-1 and SSH-2. The standard TCP port for SSH is 22. SSH is generally used to access Unix-like operating systems, but it can also be used on Windows. Windows 10 uses OpenSSH as its default SSH client. #ssh #networkingguruji #cisco #gns3 How to configure ip address in cisco router..... http://shrinkybee.com/txW8PV How to add virtual pc in gns3.... http://shrinkybee.com/tqRmeWa console cable..... http://shrinkybee.com/KwVjl http://shrinkybee.com/HtFDqg http://shrinkybee.com/9J2SPpes Online class Registration Form..... http://shrinkybee.com/7beK putty download link.... http://shrinkybee.com/QZgkyPl4 hyper terminal..... http://shrinkybee.com/aQ31kDH How to configure telnet in gns3 http://shrinkybee.com/ykQKsSn ................................................................................................................ #networkingguruji #ssh #cisco #NETWORKINGGURUJI ............................................................................................................... In this tutorial, we will teach you how to use ssh with cygwin and add it to application. Don't forget to check out our site http://howtech.tv/ for more free how-to videos! http://youtube.com/ithowtovids - our feed http://www.facebook.com/howtechtv - join us on facebook https://plus.google.com/103440382717658277879 - our group in Google+ Follow this easy step by step tutorial to learn about Cygwin and how to add SSH to Cygwin. Cygwin is a command line application providing a Unix based environment in Microsoft Windows. It supports all of the Unix commands. SSH, on the other hand is a network protocol which provides a secure medium of communications between two computers that are connected using a medium which is prone to outside attacks such as data theft. Step#1: Getting Started If you have Cygwin installed and you type the ssh command in the Cygwin terminal, an error would be displayed to you saying that the command was not found. This is because the SSH server in Cygwin has to be added and configured. Step#2: Cygwin Setup For that, let's run the Cygwin setup file. In the setup wizard, keep moving on to the next step till you reach the package selection window. Step#3: Navigating Cygwin setup Over here, in the search bar on top, let's type openssh. Notice that two branches are displayed here. Let's expand the Net menu and then click on the skip option. Step#4: More Configurations With that done, two small boxes will appear right in front of you. The first option that is selected by default is the bin directory and the other box represents the source directory. Let's choose both the options and move on with the installation. Step#5: Finalizing Installation Settings Next, all the packages will be displayed which are required to satisfy the dependencies. Step#6: Starting Cygwin Once you click on the next button, it will start downloading and installing ssh and its dependencies on Cygwin. With the installation complete, close the setup wizard and open up the Cygwin terminal. Step#7: Verifying SSH installation Over here, notice that when we type the ssh command, you will notice that the ssh help opens up. In this way, you have configured the ssh server in Cygwin Now you can easily use ssh with Cygwin and add to the security of your network.

SSH with Mac Terminal

08:39
This is a quick intro on how to use the "Terminal" application with Mac OSX to log into a remote computer using SSH. There are dedicated apps for this (equivalent to Putty on Windows) but this is nice as it is built into the operating system. This also shows you how to display colors with your ls command with a quick little change to your account profile information. I am sure there is a more tightly designed way to to do this, but this quick solution seems to work well. Here are a couple links to where I got that tip from, and on how to do a similar thing with your own local terminal. Enabling colors for SSH to Linux from Mac OS (I based my solution off of the third post, but with a couple slight changes. Use "--color" instead of -G as your option, and you can insert it directly into your .bash_profile file if you would like. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1550288/mac-os-x-terminal-colors Enabling colors in Terminal in Mac OS http://it.toolbox.com/blogs/lim/how-to-fix-colors-on-mac-osx-terminal-37214

Transcription: Since I started recording the Python for Network Engineers videos, the number one request has been to demonstrate the use of SSH with Python and Cisco devices. So as we can see here, there are a number of requests for SSH and Paramiko. This is one of multiple videos teaching you network programmability using Python and GNS3. Al, as an example has even gone further and created an entry on the GNS3 community showing you how to install Paramiko and Netmiko on the Ubuntu client that I've been demonstrating in these videos. So thanks Al for sharing. I'm going to demonstrate how to install Paramiko using the steps that Al has shared on the GNS3 community. In this topology I've got an Ubuntu docker container which I've configured to use DHCP. That's now booted and got an IP address from the NAT cloud. So as an example the Ubuntu client can ping google.com. The Cisco switch in this topology has just booted but has no configuration on it. So I'll demonstrate in a moment how to configure SSH on the switch and then we'll configure the Ubuntu client to use Paramiko and SSH to configure the switch. The module that I'm going to use for SSH is Paramiko. This is a Python implementation of the SSH version 2 protocol which provides both client and server functionality. You can find out more information about Paramiko on paramiko.org or docs.paramiko.org. I've written a script which I've linked below on github that imports Paramiko and uses SSH to connect to the Cisco switch and configure some options on the switch. We'll configure some loopback interfaces and then we'll run a loop to configure VLANs on the switch. So I'm hoping that this video and script help you configure network devices using SSH rather than just relying on telnet. In this example I'm using sublime text which is a great text editor. You can find out more about sublime text on their website sublimetext.com. Unfortunately no one pays me money to recommend these products. This is just stuff that I've found useful and you may be interested in knowing about as well. Ok so the first thing we need to do is install Paramiko and Python on this Ubuntu client. This Ubuntu client has just booted up, doesn't have any configuration apart from an IP address. So what I'll simply do here is follow the list of commands that Al has put on the GNS3 community and I'll reference the links below. So install Python, install some additional software, install pip. I'll use pip to install cryptography and then we'll use pip to install Paramiko. You simply need to wait for the processes to complete. So install Paramiko here as well and I'll upgrade pip while I'm here. So once again, Paramiko is now installed on this Ubuntu server. So follow these steps if you want to install Paramiko on your Ubuntu client. So that's the Ubuntu device configured. We now need to configure the switch for SSH. So to set up a SSH on the switch the first thing we need to do is configure a hostname which we've done already. Then we're going to specify a domain name which in this case I'm going to call CCIE Python.com. Then we're going to generate some keys so cryptic key generate RSA. I'll use 1024 as the number of bits. So that's been done. I'll specify an enable password of cisco and in this example I'll configure a username of david password of cisco and give david level 15 privileges on the vty lines. I'll use the login local command and transport input all. So SSH is now configured on the switch. what we can do now is have a look at our python script. So we're going to import Paramiko, we're also going to import a time you may want to add some delays in your script and that's what sleep allows you to do. So I'm sleeping one second before I'm outputting the session when I'm creating the VLANs on the switch.

How to Work with SSH Timeout

01:14
In this easy step by step tutorial, you will learn how to setup a timeout for SSH session. Don't forget to check out our site http://howtech.tv/ for more free how-to videos! http://youtube.com/ithowtovids - our feed http://www.facebook.com/howtechtv - join us on facebook https://plus.google.com/103440382717658277879 - our group in Google+ When you log in to an SSH server using an SSH client, there is no time limit set in the SSH configuration file, which enables the session to be logged in for the maximum amount of time. We can set such a limit, so that the session expires after a specific period of time. This tutorial will show you how to setup a timeout value to an SSH session. Step#1: Opening Configuration file For the purpose of this tutorial, we are going to use the Ubuntu environment and will add the commands for SSH timeout in the configuration file. First of all, let's open up the "sshd_config" file in the graphical editor: Step#2: Editing Configurations Next, let's insert the "ClientAliveInterval" command over here and specify the number of seconds we want to set for the timeout. Let's specify 25 seconds for now and just beneath that, let's add a command that would allow the session to be terminated after the 25 seconds in case of no activity. For that, we will use the "ClientAliveCountMax" command and specify the value to zero. With that done, save the file. Step#3: Implementing the Configurations Finally, restart the host's services by typing "service ssh restart" in the terminal. Now let's login to the server once more and wait for 25 seconds to see whether the session times out or not. And there you have it. The session has been terminated automatically after 25 seconds, which means that the SSH timeout feature has been enabled in the configuration file successfully.

|| Telnet and SSH Configuration in Cisco Router || Capture Telnet Password Using Wireshark ||

54:40
In this video i am going to teach my students how we are going to configure Telnet and SSH in Cisco Router. And How we are going to Sniff Telnet Password using Wireshark. What is Telnet: Telnet is a protocol that allows you to connect to remote computers (called hosts) over a TCP/IP network (such as the internet). Using telnet client software on your computer, you can make a connection to a telnet server (i.e., the remote host). Once your telnet client establishes a connection to the remote host, your client becomes a virtual terminal, allowing you to communicate with the remote host from your computer. In most cases, you'll need to log into the remote host, which requires that you have an account on that system. SSH: The SSH protocol (also referred to as Secure Shell) is a method for secure remote login from one computer to another. It provides several alternative options for strong authentication, and it protects the communications security and integrity with strong encryption. It is a secure alternative to the non-protected login protocols (such as telnet, rlogin) and insecure file transfer methods (such as FTP).

Configuring Secure Shell (SSH) On Cisco Devices Lab - Part 1

09:10
Configuring Secure Shell (SSH) On Cisco Devices Lab - Part 1 of 4 Secure Shell (SSH) offers more security than Telnet in that SSH encrypts all communications while Telnet sends all communication in plaintext. Cisco recommends that you use SSH instead of Telnet for accessing your Cisco devices. Configuration of SSH is pretty straight forward but requires a newer IOS version (that supports DES and/or 3DES). It's also important to realize that SSH uses a username/password combination so you will not be able to use the VTY line password. You'll need to either configure a local username database, or use a technology like TACACS+. Depending on your IOS version, your device may support SSH-1 or both SSH-1 and SSH-2. If your device supports both versions then you can specify which version your device will support. By default, it will allow SSH clients to use all versions that it supports.
