All Scientific Papers Should Be Free; Here's Why They're Not

Peer Review at Science Publications http://www.sciencemag.org/authors/peer-review-science-publications "For in-depth review, at least two outside referees are consulted. Reviewers are contacted before being sent a paper and are asked to return comments within 1 to 2 weeks for most papers. Reviewers may be selected to evaluate separate components of a manuscript." Vestiges of print publications in scientific journals https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/information-culture/vestiges-of-print-publication-in-scientific-journals/ "The first scientific journals were published in the late 17th century, and these print publications changed very little over time. Developments in printing technology, distribution and the advent of the commercial publisher all impacted the process, but the basic form was easily recognizable." ____________________ DNews is dedicated to satisfying your curiosity and to bringing you mind-bending stories & perspectives you won't find anywhere else! Grill 9 : Opposite Pulla Reddy Sweets, Vikrampuri Road, Karkhana Bazar, Secunderabad, Telangana 500015 We listened to you our lovely followers . We want the making of Haleem to be pleasing to all the viewers so we chopped out the butchering shots . No confusion great combination Checkout the making of Most Popular dish Haleem WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HAREES & HALEEM? ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| During Ramadan there are a lot of places that have started serving Haleem and few outlets that serve Harees as well Confused as to the difference between them? Read on…. Harees or Harissa: A meat and wheat porridge which is a popular Arab dish traditionally served during Ramadan season and during special occasions like weddings, birthday’s,anniversaries etc. Process: The meat to wheat ratio is 1:1 and the wheat is boiled before adding, soaked over night or sometimes the wheat is beaten to a paste/pulp form during the making process. Spices used are Cinnamon, Cumin, Cardamom and few others History of Harees coming to Hyderabad: The Arab soldiers (Mostly from Yemen) who migrated to India to serve in the Nizam’s Army stayed in the barracks area, the name got twisted into what we now know as Barkas. The warrior community called Chaush who were known for their fighting prowess and serving the Nizam as their personal bodyguards were instrumental in bringing this dish to Hyderabad. It used to be served as breakfast & lunch for the people who used to go to battle so that they have strength throughout the day, gradually it found its way to being served at Iftar’s and feasts Variants: Hyderabad has two versions of Harees, the Khari and the Meethi available. Khari true to its name is bland by Hyderabadi standards and available at majority of the outlets and Meethi actually has sugar mixed with it which is available only in the barkas area. Kashmir and few other places also have rice used instead of wheat in making it. How Harees became Haleem: The bland version of Harees had few additions made to it, Garam masala, Onions, Garlic, Ginger, Red chilli, Coriander, turmeric etc in the spices section , Gram lentils along with 1:3 ratio of wheat to meat i.e 1Kg wheat to 3Kg meat which gives the Haleem its thickness and uniqueness, hence the G.I status Difference between Harees and Haleem in layman’s terms : 1) Ratio of wheat to meat : 1:1 vs 1:3 2) Taste : Bland vs Spicy 3) Consistency : Semi liquid vs Thick porridge Common misconception is that if chicken is used for preparation of the dish then it is called Harees. Chicken was actually used in Harees because it was cheaper in price hence affordable by all & lamb became the rich man’s option. All three i.e Chicken, Mutton & Beef can be used in preparation of both Harees and Haleem. You would find the spicier version of Harees in the market as well i.e all ingredients of Haleem are used in its preparation but with the meat to wheat ratio of Harees. The word Haleem means Patient and Merciful and the process of making Haleem is lengthy and tiresome so you definitely need to have patience. Few articles online and in the print media state that the name should be Daleem derived from the word Daliya/Daalcha which means porridge instead of Haleem which is one of the names of Allah. Authenticity of such claims are yet to be proven hence individual discretion advised Description Source: http://www.palatejournals.com/article... Written By : Taher |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| There’s been an explosion of haleem in the city this Ramzan. With an increasing demand for the succulent meat stew, more restaurants are beginning to serve it and stalls are coming up across the city, catering to long lines of haleem enthusiasts. The demand is evident: for the first time, Pista House, the Hyderabad restaurant famous for its haleem, has set up a kitchen and delivery points in the city to serve the dish. Until last year, Pista House’s haleem would be delivered to the city and then served by restaurants here. Asking journalists for articles before publishing
My name is Monica Rosenfeld. I'm a professional speaker and the founder of WordStorm PR. In today's video, I'm going to be talking about whether it's appropriate to ask a journalist who's interviewed you for a story whether you can see that article before it goes to print. The short answer is no, it's not appropriate, and I'll tell you why. Imagine you're a journalist who has to write and pump out several articles in a short time frame and put them to print. Now imagine you had to go to everyone you interviewed to get their approval for what you've written and if all those people come back with changes and edits and you actually have to sit down and go through that and make those changes before you can put it to print, this would all take way too much time and nothing would ever get published. But I know what you're thinking. What if the article is riddled with inaccuracies? Can you go back to the journalist then and ask them to change it? And the answer here is yes you most certainly can. No matter all the sub-editors and editors in every media outlet, mistakes definitely do slip through. So if you go to the journalist and ask them to correct it, particularly if it's an online outlet or media outlet, they will go back, change it quickly and hopefully it will all clear up in a very short period of time. So in summary, yes you can go back and ask them to change inaccuracies, but if you want to build a positive relationship with a journalist whatever you do, don't ask to see the article before it goes to print. Thank you for your time, I hope this has been useful. Feel free to ask me any questions as always, and look forward to seeing you next week.

It is also known as an EIN, or Employer Identification Number. For simplicity, we will refer to it as the EIN. An EIN is to a business what a Social Security Number is to an individual. It basically identifies your LLC to the IRS. Even though it is called an Employer Identification Number, it does not mean that you have to have employees. [=================================] -- WHAT IS ARE EINs USED FOR? -- EINs are used for: – Opening business checking, savings, or investment accounts. – Filing taxes. – Handling employee payroll (if applicable). – Obtaining business lines of credit or business loans. – Obtaining credit cards in the name of the LLC. – Applying for business licenses. [=================================] -- WHAT DOES AN EIN LOOK LIKE? -- An EIN is similar to a Social Security Number in that it has 9 digits. To differentiate an EIN from an SSN, there are 2 digits followed by a hyphen and then 7 more digits. An EIN will look like this: 68 – 3302189 [=================================] -- HOW MUCH DOES AN EIN COST? -- An EIN is free. You can obtain an EIN from the IRS: https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/apply-for-an-employer-identification-number-ein-online (unfortunately, many websites charge $50 – $100) [=================================] -- ALREADY HAVE AN EIN? -- If you already have an EIN (before forming your LLC), it’s most likely attached to a Sole Proprietorship. This is quite a common mistake. You’ll need to close out that EIN and get a different one for your LLC (after your LLC is approved). Here’s how to close out an EIN: https://www.llcuniversity.com/cancel-ein/ [=================================] -- QUESTIONS DURING APPLICATION -- If you have any questions or if there are any errors messages that appear during your EIN online application, please contact the IRS at 800-829-4933. You can find additional IRS phone numbers at this link: https://www.irs.gov/uac/telephone-assistance [=================================] -- FOREIGN NATIONALS & ITIN -- If you are a foreign national and you need to apply for your ITIN please see the following information on the IRS’s website: https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Individual-Taxpayer-Identification-Number-ITIN [=================================] -- OPENING A BUSINESS BANK ACCOUNT -- You will need your EIN and your approved LLC documents (Articles of Organization, Certificate of Organization, Certificate of Formation, etc) to open a business checking account. Print Books
Searching all of the library's resources has become a lot simpler in the past years, now that we have Scout. But maybe you've noticed it's a little trickier finding a print book. This video will help solve that problem for you! Hi. I am Elizabeth, and I am going to show you how to find a print book. By the end of this tutorial, you will be able to search Scout for a print books and locate all of the information needed to find it. The research tool SCOUT searches all of the libraries’ resources including scholarly articles, news and magazine articles, ebooks, and print books. The library has access to many online only resources, but it also houses millions of print books. When searching in SCOUT, you can use specific search filters called limiters to determine which resources are books. Let’s try a search for books about zombies and popular culture. Type the keywords into the advanced search boxes. On the left side of the results page, in the source types box, choose the check box for books. Choosing this option limits the results to books. However, this limiter also includes book reviews and ebooks. For example, let’s look at the fifth result, American Zombie Gothic. Check for the grey status box to ensure that the result is a book the library owns. The box lists all of the important information about finding the book. First check which library it is in, then check the status. “Available” means it is on the shelf. The last thing to note is the call number. It is a unique code needed to find the book. Here is the call number for American Zombie Gothic. When using call numbers, you’ll read from left to right. Use the first letter to determine the floor where the item is located. There are call number location guides beside the elevators on every floor. For example, call numbers starting with “p” are on the third floor. Locate the PN section by using the directional tabs at the end of each shelf range. From here find the section containing the 1995.9 books. The rest of the call number determines the location of the book on the shelf. Thanks for watching this video. If you have any questions, visit us at lib.ua.edu or at the Information Desk.
