Python 3 Tutorial: Print Function and Strings

09:31
The print function in Python is a function that outputs to your console window whatever you say you want to print out. At first blush, it might appear that the print function is rather useless for programming, but it is actually one of the most widely used functions in all of python. The reason for this is that it makes for a great debugging tool. If something isn't acting right, you can use the print function to print out what is happening in the program. Many times, you expect a certain variable to be one thing, but you cannot see what the program sees. If you print out the variable, you might see that what you thought was, was not. Next up, strings, what are they? Strings are just "strings" of text, hence the name. Strings are a type of data. Another type of data is integers. This video is a quick look at the Python Eel library. This library allows us to create Python GUIs using HTML, CSS and JavaScript rendered in a special Chrome window. It provides a connection between Python and a Chrome app window so we can communicate between them. This is a very quick look into the library and it is recommended you pause on each minor step. For a more detailed and slower look at this library, go to: https://nitratine.net/blog/post/python-gui-using-chrome/ Here you will find the code and everything explained. 📺 Auto Py to Exe: https://youtu.be/OZSZHmWSOeM 📺 Convert PY to EXE: https://youtu.be/lOIJIk_maO4 🐍 In this video I use Python 3.5. 👍🏼 Feel free to comment with any issues.

Intro and Getting Stock Price Data - Python Programming for Finance p.1

09:34
Welcome to a Python for Finance tutorial series. In this series, we're going to run through the basics of importing financial (stock) data into Python using the Pandas framework. From here, we'll manipulate the data and attempt to come up with some sort of system for investing in companies, apply some machine learning, even some deep learning, and then learn how to back-test a strategy. I assume you know the fundamentals of Python. If you're not sure if that's you, click the fundamentals link, look at some of the topics in the series, and make a judgement call. If at any point you are stuck in this series or confused on a topic or concept, feel free to ask for help and I will do my best to help. https://pythonprogramming.net https://twitter.com/sentdex https://www.facebook.com/pythonprogramming.net/ https://plus.google.com/+sentdex

How do I filter rows of a pandas DataFrame by column value?

13:45
Let's say that you only want to display the rows of a DataFrame which have a certain column value. How would you do it? pandas makes it easy, but the notation can be confusing and thus difficult to remember. In this video, I'll work up to the solution step-by-step using regular Python code so that you can truly understand the logic behind pandas filtering notation. Python 3 Programming Tutorial - Tkinter adding images and text

11:59
Finally, as a conclusion to our intro to tkinter, we cover the addition of labels. A label in tkinter can be an image or text. In this tutorial, we cover both examples, by showing an image as a part of an event, by adding "show image" to our edit option in our menu bar. We do the same thing with "show text," which pops up some text as well. Python 3 Programming Tutorial - Sys Module

11:00
This video covers some of the basics to the sys module in Python 3. The sys module allows you to use stdin() and stdout(), as well as stderr()... but, most interestingly, we can utilize sys.argv(). To many this is a confusing concept, but it is pretty simple and very useful once you learn it. The idea of sys.argv is to allow you to pass arguments through to Python from the command line. This ability acts as a bridge to the ability to communicate between Python and other languages. Amazon coding interview question and answer - recursive staircase problem! For daily coding problems like this one, I’d recommend this website called Daily Coding Problem. You can find it here: https://csdojo.io/daily (That’s a referral link, and you can get a 10% discount through that link. Their free option and blog articles are good, too, though.) Learn Pytest in 60 Minutes : Python Unit Testing Framework

01:03:19
py.test is an alternative, more Pythonic way of writing your tests. The pytest framework makes it easy to write small tests, yet scales to support complex functional testing for applications and libraries. pytest is a mature full-featured Python testing tool that helps you write better programs. Learn Pytest basic functionality | Setup & Tear Down | Fixtures Beginning with a brief introduction and setup of Pytest. We will see How to install pytest, Using Options with Pytest, Parameterizing tests (pytest.mark.parametrize), pytest fixtures + setup/teardown methods, Using PyCharm to run pytest tests. The best part is, the overhead for creating unit tests is close to zero! How to use Options with pytest: How to run cases? • pytest tests/test_mod.py • pytest tests/ • pytest -k match # def test_match(): -k EXPRESSION only run tests which match the given substring expression. • pytest --showlocals # trace context • pytest -x # stop on first failure case • pytest --maxfail=2 # on the second • pytest -s # enable `print` output • pytest --durations=5 # list top 5 slowest cases • pytest --tb=long # default traceback • pytest --tb=line # oneline • pytest --tb=short • pytest --tb=native # Python default traceback -m MARKEXPR only run tests matching given mark expression. example: -m 'mark1 and not mark2'. --markers show markers (builtin, plugin and per-project ones). -x, --exitfirst exit instantly on first error or failed test. --maxfail=num exit after first num failures or errors. What is Unit Testing - According to wikipedia, unit testing is a software testing method by which individual units of source code are tested to determine whether they are fit for use. Why Unit Test? - Tests Reduce Bugs in New Features and Existing Features Tests Are Good Documentation Tests Reduce the Cost of Change Faster Debugging Faster Development Better Design Python Testing frameworks unittest - In the Python Standard Library nose - Not in the Standard Library. Simpler tests than unittest pytest - Not in the Python Standard Library. run with following command: pytest test_math_func.py -v or py.test #PythonTutorialforBeginners #ProgrammingKnowledge #PyTest #PythonCourse. ----------------------Follow--------------------------------------------- My Website - http://www.codebind.com My Blog - https://goo.gl/Nd2pFn My Facebook Page - https://goo.gl/eLp2cQ Google+ - https://goo.gl/lvC5FX Twitter - https://twitter.com/ProgrammingKnow Pinterest - https://goo.gl/kCInUp Text Case Converter - https://goo.gl/pVpcwL -------------------------Stuff I use to make videos ------------------- Stuff I use to make videos Windows notebook – http://amzn.to/2zcXPyF Apple MacBook Pro – http://amzn.to/2BTJBZ7 Ubuntu notebook - https://amzn.to/2GE4giY Desktop - http://amzn.to/2zct252 Microphone – http://amzn.to/2zcYbW1 notebook mouse – http://amzn.to/2BVs4Q3 ------------------Facebook Links ---------------------------------------- http://fb.me/ProgrammingKnowledgeLearning/ http://fb.me/AndroidTutorialsForBeginners http://fb.me/Programmingknowledge http://fb.me/CppProgrammingLanguage http://fb.me/JavaTutorialsAndCode http://fb.me/SQLiteTutorial http://fb.me/UbuntuLinuxTutorials http://fb.me/EasyOnlineConverter
