A Simple Trick to ORGANIZE Your Photos on Your Mac
Here's a SIMPLE TRICK to Organize Your Photos on your Mac. If you have problems organizing your photos, you are NOT alone! The story behind today's class is I was recently teaching a private lesson (remotely) to a gentleman who had previously taken one of my classes called: David's Tricks to FINALLY Organize Your Photos: LINK HERE: https://youtu.be/7yF2SKj-Uic He had taken all of the steps to create a structure of albums and folders, but after going through more than 20k photos, it became difficult to figure out which photos had NOT already been sorted into albums. When we figured out the solution, I knew this was something you would ALL like to know too! Today I am going to teach you in this short video tutorial on how to create a Smart Album (in the Photos App which comes with your Mac). When creating that album we're going to add custom search parameters so that it ONLY shows you which photos have not yet been sorted. This will allow you to go through the list of photos, drag and drop them into their corresponding albums on the sidebar, and as you organize them, they will disappear from this list. BOOM! ORGANIZED!!!! ** One Small Correction: Smart Albums can only be accessed through the Mac Photos App. For some strange reason, Apple does not allow smart albums to be accessible on iOS devices. Why You Should Disable iCloud Photo Library (& What to Use Instead)
One of the new features in iOS called iCloud Photo Library is definitely not helping. This feature, while in theory, allows you to backup all of your photos and videos on any of your iOS or MacOS devices to the cloud, takes up precious iCloud storage and adds up really quickly. Most people I know have run out of storage just from iCloud backups (another issue I have with iOS, but I digress) so adding this is almost a sure-fire way to guarantee you run out of iCloud storage. There is a better way though. I touched on this in a video a long time ago about backing up your photos and videos but think we need to revisit the concept. You should turn off iCloud Photo Library and instead use another free service like, say, Google Photos which automatically backs up all of your photos and videos in an unlimited quantity for free. So here's how we do that. iCloud Photo Library vs. Photo Stream - What's the difference??
▶▶▶ Subscribe now: http://bit.ly/EverydayApple An overview of the basic differences between Apple iCloud Photo Library and Photo Stream. The key point to remember is that iCloud Photo Library allows you to store ALL of your photos and videos in iCloud, while Photo Stream uploads new photos (NOT videos) and sends them to all of your devices where you have Photo Stream turned on. It only stores the most recent 30 days' worth of photos (up to 1,000 photos). ► Equipment Used: 💻 — MacBook Pro 13" - https://amzn.to/2Ohsoek 🎙 — Purple Panda Lavalier Lapel Mic - https://amzn.to/2F9Qt7o 📸 — Canon EOS Rebel T5i - https://amzn.to/2RIsMEJ 🎧 — TASCAM TH-200X - https://amzn.to/2PYYk8U 📱 — iPhone 6 - https://ebay.to/2Srncri ▶ ADS Sometimes you'll find YouTube pre-roll ads and other ads in my videos. Windows 10 Photo App - Organize Your Photos into Albums
The Windows 10 Photo App automatically recreates Collections and Albums and adds pictures to them as picture are taken. Collections are group by Date and automatic Albums can be grouped by date, location or other information. But Albums rarely contain only pictures and videos that are related to each other. So creating your own are the way to go. It's a big job at first, but after you get organized it's easy to create new or edit existing Photo App Albums.

Managing Your iCloud Storage
In this screencast tutorial I cover how to manage your iCloud storage. Apple provides 5GB of storage for free with iCloud. This might seem like a lot but if you have multiple iOS devices you are backing up to iCloud, you can quickly run out of space. In this tutorial I cover how to identify where the space is going, how to delete and/or add what gets backed up, and how to get information off of your phone like videos and so you can safely back them up on your Mac. How to Free Up Space on iPhone (& Never Worry About It Again)
Link to everything I mentioned in the video: http://theunlockr.com/2016/04/21/free-up-space-on-iphone/ *CLICK SHOW MORE FOR MORE RESOURCES! Video Description: Since most iPhone users don't stray from iOS they usually upgrade from an iPhone to a newer iPhone. When they do this, things like photos, app data, and a tons of other things are synced and then transferred directly to the new phone. Combine this with the fact that most users don't upgrade their storage when buying their next iPhone and you can see how we have a pretty easy recipe for running out of space pretty quickly. Luckily you can free up space on your iPhone with a few simple steps. Things like making sure you aren't saving duplicate photos (Instagram is notorious for this), saving photos to the cloud automatically so you can delete old ones from the phone without fear of losing them forever, as well as cleaning up some app data and caches that are just taking up space for no good reason. So let's see how we can free up storage space on your iPhone and how we can put things in place to make it far less often you'll need to do this purging. SCOM0610 - Tip - macOS & iOS - Apple Photos - Keywords
Tip Video - We’ve covered Apple Photos in depth on ScreenCastsOnline, but in this short tip video, I want to revisit how to create and manage metadata with your iCloud Photo library. On both the Mac and iOS, Apple Photos is getting smarter by applying machine learning technology on the device, to automatically categorise photos. However, there are still instances when you want to add your own personal metadata in the form of titles, descriptions, keywords or location information. In this tip video, I focus on adding title and keyword metadata via the Info Panel and the Keyword Manager. This is a full ScreenCastsOnline tip video. We publish a free tip video each Tuesday and a full 30 - 50 minute Apple related video tutorial for ScreenCastsOnline members each Friday. As well as the full weekly videos, Members also receive access to the full archive of shows and tips, a dedicated iOS and Apple TV App and a monthly subscription to the SCO Digital Magazine. For more information, visit http://screencastsonline.com for a free 14 day membership.

How To Show Photos In Finder From Photos App
The Photos “Show Referenced File In Finder” function is basically exactly the same as the “Reveal in Finder” option that existed in prior photo management apps in OS X. But there’s a catch: you must be manually managing your photo library, and not importing copies into Photos app library. In fact, if you’re not self-managing the library, the “Show Referenced File in Finder” option won’t even exist, it will be grayed out or just outright invisible. If you don’t import image copies into Photos app however, this feature works great and is quite simple SUBSCRIBE TO MY SMART BALANCE CHANNEL http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCq5mf... Quickly Delete Albums in Photos for Mac
If you used iPhoto before it was Photos, then you probably have a lot of old albums which were automatically created that don't mean anything to you. This can make finding your stuff a bit more difficult. The issue dates back to a feature that was introduced in iPhoto called "events." This was a "smart feature" (debatable) which organized your photos taken around a similar time/location into automatic groups. When you migrated your iPhoto library over to what is now Photos, those events were translated into albums. If you were to delete them one at a time, you're looking at hours of work. Here's a trick to quickly remove them in seconds and clean up your Photos library. Want to take a private lesson with David? How To Optimize Photo Storage On Your iPhone (MacMost #1815)
https://macmost.com/e-1815 If you are running out of storage space on your iPhone, you may think that removing some photos is a good way to free up space. But using iCloud Photo Library means that deleting a photo will delete it from all of your devices. The solution is not to try to delete a photo at all. You simply need to turn on Optimize iPhone Storage in your Photos settings. This will allow your iPhone to manage your photos so that only small thumbnails are stored for most photos. The original high-resolution photos will always be in iCloud, and can also be stored on your Mac. Optimizing allows you to get a lot of storage space back, while still having all of your photos available to you. You can do the same for your Mac or second Mac to save space.

How to Manage Your Photos on iPhone and iPad
In this tutorial, you will learn how to manage your photos on iPhone. iOS comes with several new and cool photo-managing options, including “Recently Added” photo album and “Recently Deleted” photo album. Another add-on allows you to quickly insert your newly made photos into your message. Let’s see how they all work. Step 1. Let’s say you’ve deleted your photo by mistake. Oops! Not this one! You would not be able to recover it easily in iOS7, but iOS8 has introduced a new album - “Recently Deleted” photos. All the photos you’ve recently deleted will be stored in this album for 30 more days, after which they are deleted permanently. You can find this album in “Photos” app and “Albums”. Step 2. Tap the wrongly deleted photo and choose “Recover”. Confirm the restoration of the photo by choosing “Recover Photo”. The photo will re-appear in your “Recently Added” album just where it should be placed chronologically. Step 3. If you choose any of the photos from your albums, you will see a little heart sign right below it. Tapping on the heart will send that photo straight into the “Favorites” album. You can use “Favorites” album to store all of your best shots. Step 4. If you tap the little square with an arrow on the lower left of the photo, you’ll see all the list of functions that can be done with that photo: from quickly inserting it into the message or mail to quickly sharing it with iCloud and on all your social media. Even more easily accessible functions are positioned downwards: you can now copy the photo, see it in a slideshow, assign it to your contact or set it as your wallpaper just in a blink of an eye. Result: Enjoy your enhanced photo-related experience on iOS8! This was a HowTech tutorial. Like us on Facebook, love us forever or leave us a comment here in the fields below :) Thanks for watching!
