Sangoma Zero-touch Phone Provisioning

16:56
Sangoma has put a lot of effort into making their phones as easy to use as possible, and this is a great example of those efforts. Zero-touch provisioning allows you to set up a Sangoma phone in FreePBX and in the Sangoma online portal so that when you plug a phone into a network anywhere, it automatically gets its configuration and connects to the FreePBX without any user intervention. This video shows the two different ways that phones can connect, and also how to set it up with FreePBX using the Endpoint Manager. Check out Sangoma phones here: http://goo.gl/o6IEK0 If you have an order of 10 or more Sangoma phones, contact me at http://CrosstalkSolutions.com - I can get you great pricing! Provisioning The Polycom VVX 410 With FreePBX Endpoint Manager | VoIP Supply

06:50
Join Senior VoIP Engineer Marc Spehalski as he Provisions a Polycom VVX 410 using FreePBX Endpoint Manager. http://www.voipsupply.com/services/configuration Hi, I’m Marc Spehalski, Senior VoIP Engineer at VoIP Supply. Today, we’re going to be doing a demonstration of Sangoma’s Endpoint Manager for FreePBX, which is a commercial module that allows you to provision multiple brands of phones, on the FreePBX platform. Today, we’re going to be doing the Polycom VVX 410, which is straight out of our Refresh stock. Lets go a head and start the configuration, then we’ll plug the phone in, and provision it. Endpoint Manager is a commercial module by Sangoma. It’s about seventy-five dollars, but for that, you get the ability to auto-provision multiple brands of phones, which is a huge value for anyone deploying a lot of phones, or even a lot of phones of various models. To get started with Endpoint Manager, in FreePBX, we go to settings, and Endpoint Manager. In Endpoint Manager, we can see the brands that have already been added. These are a couple different brands that I provisioned in the VoIP Supply Lab, today we’re going to be provisioning a Polycom VVX 410, so we need to add the Polycom brand. When you add a brand you’re building a base template for any Polycom phone that’s supported by Endpoint Manager. Just going to call this Polycom for now. Destination address, make sure this is the IP address of your phone system. So this is our internal IP. Be sure to correct our time zone. And the rest of this I’m going to leave as default. Our provisioning server is going to be the same IP address as our PBX, and we’re going to be using TFTP for phone provisioning. Our DHP server is set up with option sixty-six to point phones towards the TFTP server. Another thing we’re going to check are the global settings. Make sure all these parameters are correct for your network. Our internal IP address is correct, the external IP is not correct currently, but we will not be using remote phones, so this really doesn’t matter right now. Phone admin password is something you’re going to want to pay attention to. In Polycom, the default admin password is four, five, six. It will now be replaced when provisioned with six two’s. User password will be preplaced with one’s. Lets just save global, next lets configure the four-ten model. Lets go back into the Polycom brand. Scroll down and select the VVX 410, and we’ll create a template, for now, a phone with just one line key. Next, we will map a extension that we have prebuilt with the physical phone, so we’ll go to extension mapping. Click, add extension, scroll down, and select the extension you’ve created, we have seven-three-six, our brand is Polycom. We’ll put in the MAC address, and select your model, VVX 410. FreePBX has built our configuration file, so the next step is to plug in the phone. Now that we have the configuration built for the Polycom VVX410, let’s plug it in and let it auto provision. You might have noticed that the phone didn’t actually auto provision, and this might happen to you. Let me show you how to fix it. Hit the home button, go to settings, advanced, four, five, six is the password, administration settings, network configuration, provisioning server, make sure your type is set to trivial FTP, or TFTP, go to DHP menu, make sure we are using option sixty-six only. Hit back twice, three times, save config. The phone will reboot, and next time it boots we should have a provisioned phone. You can see the phone is now registered, so I will place a quick test call to the echo test. And there you have it. As you can see, it was a pretty simple process provisioning the Polycom VVX 410 with Sangoma’s Endpoint Manager for FreePBX. You’ll notice I did not put the handset on the phone, which is typical of a deployment or a provisioning of a large amount of phones. We do offer a provisioning service at VoIP Supply for any new phone system purchases through us, where we’ll actually unbox the phone, upgrade the firmware, and put a configuration on it for the phone system. For any questions regarding our provisioning services call us at 1-800-398-VoIP or visit us at VoIPSupply.com. Once again, I’m Marc Spehalski, Senior VoIP Engineer at VoIP Supply, thanks for watching. They can help you to reduce cost, are very flexible, and can make your startup appear way more professional, adding to social proof. IP Phones often don't come with a power supply! This is because many of these phones support power over ethernet. If you don't have power over ethernet make sure to get a power supply for your phone. IP Phones use SIP (Session Initiation Protocol), hence they are sometimes referred to as sip phones. If you have a basic understanding of computer networks, you should be able to setup your own business phone system using VOIP. Yealink phones offer a great value, especially if you are new to ip phones. NethServer 7.3 Installation and first look

06:16
Support installibre on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/libre Project website: https://www.nethserver.org/ Today we are taking a look at NethServer, version 7.3. NethServer is a CentOS-based distribution, with the primary feature and difference from CentOS being modular design and a comprehensive web-interface. We proceed to the web-interface, which is the selling feature of this distribution. By default, it's listening on port 980. We enter our domain name, verify the time zone selection, and are given the opportunity to change the default SSH port, choose whether mail should be sent via smart host, and a chance to opt out of usage statistics. After brief self-configuration, we are presented with the Network page of the web-UI, where we can review and change our network settings. Going through the list of available pages from the top, we can see that we have no applications currently installed, and proceed to the Dashboard. Here we are warned that at least one network interface is using DHCP, which is not an issue for our testing purposes. The page itself contains a lot of useful information, being updated real-time. The data includes NethServer and kernel releases, RAID configuration, system load, uptime, date and time, network and hardware information, memory and disk usage. Moving down in the list of pages, we open the Disk usage section. This is a very handy tool, which helps quickly identify which folders are using large amounts of storage. Next, is the Domain accounts section, where we can choose to configure LDAP and Active Directory. On the Services screen, we see the list of all installed services, their listening ports, and basic management features. Next one down is Users and groups page, with the sole Configure button, which takes us back to the domain accounts configuration. The Log viewer page allows us to review and follow various system logs, which is certainly a nice feature to have if we are managing a configured server from the web-ui. Next to the Log viewer is the Shutdown page, which is self-explanatory. Moving down yet another line, we have the Software center. After a moment of pondering, we are presented with a list of available applications. We shall come back to this page after we are finished with the tour. Next page is Network services. Here we can manage the firewall options for all listening services. Still moving down the sidebar, we have the SSH page. As expected, here we can change the SSH port, as well choose whether root login is permitted, and if password authentication should be used. Under the SSH page we have Trusted networks, where we can manage local networks that should have access to the system services. Down below is the Accounts provider page, which we have seen before, as well as DHCP, DNS, date and time, email and network settings. We can change our company name and contacts, which are displayed in certain areas of the web-interface, manage our SSL certificate, change the hostname and set up static routes. Now, let's go back to the Software center. We are notified of available updates and a list of packages pending update. We can trigger the update with a single click. After that's done, we can review the list of available applications. We can configure an email server, an FTP server, IPsec, OpenVPN, SQL and a variety of other features with a couple of clicks. For the sake of the video, let's try the Web server with a few extra php modules. The task completes within seconds, and we are prompted to reload the page. Checking the server's IP-address on port 80 indeed displays a page rendered by the Apache web server. I get interested in trying out the KVM virtual machine manager. Just like the web server, it's installed and configured within seconds. In its settings we choose whether the VM manager is enabled, choose to enable its own web-interface and are given the opportunity to change the administrator password. The web-interface is listening on port 8000, where we can login with the password presented earlier. We configure a storage pool, with a variety of options available, and proceed to create our first VM. Choosing from a predefined list of configurations, we click Create, set-up basic options, and our KVM managed virtual machine is ready. A multitude of options are available for each VM, as well as some real-time stats, and a VNC console. Unfortunately, VNC did not work for me, but it may be due to my web browser configuration. Overall, I've found NethServer to be quite intuitive and easy to use. It would be a great solution for someone wishing to set-up their own server, and not quite ready to get down and dirty on the command line. With a variety of applications and services available at a touch of a button, it's a great starting point, that still allows to dig down under the hood if desired.
