A simple use of IIS on WIndows 2012 R2 to setup a relay. This was for a client who's old application did not support TLS encryption on tcp;/587 so we relayed it when Comcast stopped supporting clear tcp/25. Sorry about the echo, we had to record it quickly in a small office.

Looked in the application log and found the following error: Unable to initialize the Information Store service because the clocks on the client and server are skewed. This may be caused by a time change either in the client or the server, and may require a reboot of that computer. Verify that your domain is properly configured and is currently online. Solution: Found some instructions on the technet website that fixed my problem. Open a cmd prompt from the Exchange Server as administrator (right mouse click on the command prompt shortcut and select Run as Administrator) Run this command Net time \\ADServerName /Set Restart the Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Topology Service *Important!! You have to restart the Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Topology Service or this fix will not work.. I tried just starting the Information Store service after running the command it it still failed..

How to Build a Windows SMTP Mail Server For Email Marketing. Looking for a way to send emails from your own server? Do you want to know how to configure your windows server to be ready as an email server (relay server)? Course overview In this course, I tried to merge email marketing concepts with IT and computer science. I will show you how to turn your windows server into a mail server in two techniques : 1. Installing and configuring the local SMTP feature which is builtin in IIS 6.0 in windows. 2. Installing and configuring the free open source software (Hmail server) to be sued as our mail server. And for that, I will go into the process in how to configure Your VPS from scratch and how to build it in GoDaddy VPS services and for people with no budget, I will also go into the process of creating an instance virtual machine in Amazon computing services for free to use it as our mail server. After we configure I will use Power Shell to send a test email from our two servers to test that everything is fine. Then I will show you how to connect bot Outlook and Thunderbird email clients to our server and use them to send emails from. Also, I will explain the difference between POP and IMAP protocols which are email client protocols and when to use each. This is for the first part. As I told you in the introduction, in this course I am trying to merge the email marketing concepts with IT and computer science, So after configuring the SMTP server in the first part, here I will cover some of the main email marketing concepts as follows: How does email list building operation work? How to avoid spams in your email campaigns? Tops to write your perfect email. What is the target audience? IT admins and computer science students who want to know how to build an SMTP and some email marketing concepts. Anyone who loves to know about email marketing, mail servers and how to send emails using their own servers.
